For my fist post on this baby-fresh website, I would like to thank the fine men and women at Liberty States Fiction Writers (LSFW) for being so kind and friendly to me at our monthly meeting up at the Edison Public Library. It was my very first step into the world of publishing and it could not have been more enjoyable. Being surrounded by professional writers and aspiring authors was motivating. I look forward to our next meeting and the conference in March.
While at the LSFW meeting, I met a lot of people who inspired me to get the ball rolling with my book (which is finished) and the journey to publication (hopefully). So it seems that I need to “put myself out there” and tweet and have a website to promote myself. I think I figured out WordPress enough to create something respectable. I am always open to suggestions.
With that said, I am off to order business cards since I quickly learned that ripping off a piece of paper to jot down your name and e-mail is not exactly professional…or impressive. I also need to come up with an elevator pitch and a longer book jacket summary of my story, Lost in The Tool Shed, which I will describe in greater detail once I get the feedback I need.
Also, hope you like the image I chose. It’s like a beginning journey thing that I thought looked cool in a Lord of the Rings way. I may add some sort of cheesy cliche photo with my posts just to be humorous.
